selah <2KI14 -7> He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten
thousand,

and took {Selah} by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto

this day.

selah Many [there be] which say of my soul, [There is]
no

help for him in God. {Selah}.

selah I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he
heard me

out of his holy hill. {Selah}.

selah Salvation [belongeth] unto the LORD: thy blessing

[is] upon thy people. {Selah}.

selah O ye sons of men, how long [will ye turn] my
glory

into shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, [and] seek after

leasing? {Selah}.

selah Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own

heart upon your bed, and be still. {Selah}.

selah Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take [it];
yea,

let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in

the dust. {Selah}.

selah The LORD is known [by] the judgment [which] he

executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.

Higgaion. {Selah}.

selah Put them in fear, O LORD: [that] the nations may

know themselves [to be but] men. {Selah}.

selah Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt

sacrifice; {Selah}.

selah Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast

not withholden the request of his lips. {Selah}.

selah This [is] the generation of them that seek him,

that seek thy face, O Jacob. {Selah}.

selah Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts,
he

[is] the King of glory. {Selah}.

selah For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my

moisture is turned into the drought of summer. {Selah}.

selah I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine
iniquity

have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the

LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. {Selah}.

selah Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve
me

from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of
deliverance.

{Selah}.

selah Behold, thou hast made my days [as] an
handbreadth;

and mine age [is] as nothing before thee: verily every man at his

best state [is] altogether vanity. {Selah}.

selah When thou with rebukes dost correct man for

iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth:
surely

every man [is] vanity. {Selah}.

selah In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy

name for ever. {Selah}.

selah Though] the waters thereof roar [and] be
troubled,

[though] the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. {Selah}.

selah The LORD of hosts [is] with us; the God of Jacob

[is] our refuge. {Selah}.

selah The LORD of hosts [is] with us; the God of
Jacob

[is] our refuge. {Selah}.

selah He shall choose our inheritance for us, the

excellency of Jacob whom he loved. {Selah}.

selah As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of

the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it
for

ever. {Selah}.

selah This their way [is] their folly: yet their

posterity approve their sayings. {Selah}.

selah But God will redeem my soul from the power of
the

grave: for he shall receive me. {Selah}.

selah And the heavens shall declare his righteousness:

for God [is] judge himself. {Selah}.

selah Thou lovest evil more than good; [and] lying
rather

than to speak righteousness. {Selah}.

selah God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he
shall

take thee away, and pluck thee out of [thy] dwelling place, and
root

thee out of the land of the living. {Selah}.

selah For strangers are risen up against me, and

oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them.

{Selah}.

selah Lo, [then] would I wander far off, [and] remain
in

the wilderness. {Selah}.

selah God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that

abideth of old. {Selah}. Because they have no changes, therefore

they fear not God.

selah He shall send from heaven, and save me [from]
the

reproach of him that would swallow me up. {Selah}. God shall send

forth his mercy and his truth.

selah They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul
is

bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst
whereof

they are fallen [themselves]. {Selah}.

selah Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of

Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any

wicked transgressors. {Selah}.

selah Consume [them] in wrath, consume [them], that
they

[may] not [be]: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto
the

ends of the earth. {Selah}.

selah Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee,

that it may be displayed because of the truth. {Selah}.

selah I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will

trust in the covert of thy wings. {Selah}.

selah They only consult to cast [him] down from his

excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth,
but

they curse inwardly. {Selah}.

selah Trust in him at all times; [ye] people, pour out

your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. {Selah}.

selah All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing

unto thee; they shall sing [to] thy name. {Selah}.

selah He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold

the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. {Selah}.

selah I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of

fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with

goats. {Selah}.

selah To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm [or]

Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; [and] cause his
face to

shine upon us; {Selah}.

selah O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for

thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations
upon

earth. {Selah}.

selah O God, when thou wentest forth before thy
people,

when thou didst march through the wilderness; {Selah}:

selah Blessed [be] the Lord, [who] daily loadeth us

[with benefits, even] the God of our salvation. {Selah}.

selah Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing

praises unto the Lord; {Selah}:

selah The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are

dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. {Selah}.

selah There brake he the arrows of the bow, the
shield,

and the sword, and the battle. {Selah}.

selah When God arose to judgment, to save all the
meek of

the earth. {Selah}.

selah I remembered God, and was troubled: I
complained,

and my spirit was overwhelmed. {Selah}.

selah Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in
anger

shut up his tender mercies? {Selah}.

selah Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed thy people,

the sons of Jacob and Joseph. {Selah}.

selah Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee;
I

answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at
the

waters of Meribah. {Selah}.

selah How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the

persons of the wicked? {Selah}.

selah Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen

the children of Lot. {Selah}.

selah Blessed [are] they that dwell in thy house: they

will be still praising thee. {Selah}.

selah O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O

God of Jacob. {Selah}.

selah Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people,
thou

hast covered all their sin. {Selah}.

selah Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of
God.

{selah}.

selah The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the

people, [that] this [man] was born there. {Selah}.

selah Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast

afflicted [me] with all thy waves. {Selah}.

selah Wilt thou show wonders to the dead? shall the
dead

arise [and] praise thee? {Selah}.

selah Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up

thy throne to all generations. {Selah}.

selah It shall be established for ever as the moon,
and

[as] a faithful witness in heaven. {Selah}.

selah The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou

hast covered him with shame. {Selah}.

selah What man [is he that] liveth, and shall not see

death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?

{Selah}.

selah They have sharpened their tongues like a
serpent;

adders' poison [is] under their lips. {Selah}.

selah The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords;
they

have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me.

{Selah}.

selah Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked:

further not his wicked device; [lest] they exalt themselves.

{Selah}.

selah I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul

[thirsteth] after thee, as a thirsty land. {Selah}.

selah God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount

Paran. {Selah}. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was

full of his praise.

selah Thy bow was made quite naked, [according] to the

oaths of the tribes, [even thy] word. {Selah}. Thou didst cleave
the

earth with rivers.

selah Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy
people,

[even] for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head

out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation
unto

the neck. {Selah}.
