pits <1SA13 -6> When the men of Israel saw that they were in a
strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did
hide
themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high
places, and in {pits}.
pits The proud have digged {pits} for me, which
[are]
not after thy law.
pits Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be
cast
into the fire; into deep {pits}, that they rise not up again.
pits Neither said they, Where [is] the LORD that
brought
us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the
wilderness,
through a land of deserts and of {pits}, through a land of
drought,
and of the shadow of death, through a land that no m
an passed through, and where no man dwelt?
pits And their nobles have sent their little ones to
the
waters: they came to the {pits}, [and] found no water; they
returned
with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and
covered their heads.
pits The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the
LORD, was taken in their {pits}, of whom we said, Under his
shadow
we shall live among the heathen.
