hissing <2CH29 -8> Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon
Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to
astonishment, and to {hissing}, as ye see with your eyes.
hissing To make their land desolate, [and] a
perpetual {hissing}; every one that passeth thereby shall be
astonished, and wag his head.
hissing And I will make this city desolate, and an
{hissing}; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished
and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
hissing Behold, I will send and take all the families
of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of
Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and
against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations ro
und about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an
astonishment, and an {hissing}, and perpetual desolations.
hissing To wit], Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah,
and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a
desolation, an astonishment, an {hissing}, and a curse; as [it
is] this day;
hissing And I will persecute them with the sword,
with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them
to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse,
and an astonishment, and an {hissing}, and a reproach, among all
t
he nations whither I have driven them:
hissing And Babylon shall become heaps, a
dwellingplace for dragons, and astonishment, and an {hissing},
without an inhabitant.
hissing For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all
the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels;
that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants
thereof an {hissing}: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my
people.
