grievous And there was a famine in the land: and
Abram

went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine [was]

{grievous} in the land.

grievous And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom
and

Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very {grievous};

grievous And the thing was very {grievous} in
Abraham's

sight because of his son.

grievous And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be

{grievous} in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy

bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto
her

voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

grievous And the plenty shall not be known in the
land

by reason of that famine following; for it [shall be] very

{grievous}.

grievous And when the inhabitants of the land, the

Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said,
This

[is] a {grievous} mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name
of

it was called Abelmizraim, which [is] beyond Jordan.

grievous And the LORD did so; and there came a
{grievous}

swarm [of flies] into the house of Pharaoh, and [into] his
servants'

houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by

reason of the swarm [of flies].

grievous Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy
cattle

which [is] in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon
the

camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: [there shall be] a
very

{grievous} murrain.

grievous Behold, to morrow about this time I will
cause

it to rain a very {grievous} hail, such as hath not been in Egypt

since the foundation thereof even until now.

grievous So there was hail, and fire mingled with the

hail, very {grievous}, such as there was none like it in all the

land of Egypt since it became a nation.

grievous And the locusts went up over all the land of

Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very {grievous}
[were

they]; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither
after

them shall be such.

grievous <1KI2 -8> And, behold, [thou hast] with thee Shimei the
son

of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a
{grievous}

curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to
meet

me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying

, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

grievous <1KI12 -4> Thy father made our yoke {grievous}: now

therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his

heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

grievous <1KI12 -4> Thy father made our yoke grievous: now
therefore

make thou the {grievous} service of thy father, and his heavy
yoke

which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

grievous <2CH10 -4> Thy father made our yoke grievous: now
therefore

ease thou somewhat the {grievous} servitude of thy father, and
his

heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.

grievous <2CH10 -4> Thy father made our yoke {grievous}: now

therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy
father,

and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.

grievous His ways are always {grievous}; thy judgments

[are] far above out of his sight: [as for] all his enemies, he

puffeth at them.

grievous Let the lying lips be put to silence; which

speak {grievous} things proudly and contemptuously against the

righteous.

grievous A soft answer turneth away wrath: but
{grievous}

words stir up anger.

grievous Correction [is] {grievous} unto him that

forsaketh the way: [and] he that hateth reproof shall die.

grievous Therefore I hated life; because the work
that is

wrought under the sun [is] {grievous} unto me: for all [is]
vanity

and vexation of spirit.

grievous And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their
voice

shall be heard [even] unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of

Moab shall cry out; his life shall be {grievous} unto him.

grievous A {grievous} vision is declared unto me; the

treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler
spoileth.

Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I
made

to cease.

grievous They [are] all {grievous} revolters, walking

with slanders: [they are] brass and iron; they [are] all
corrupters.

grievous Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is
{grievous}:

but I said, Truly this [is] a grief, and I must bear it.

grievous Therefore thou shalt say this word unto
them;

Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not

cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a
great

breach, with a very {grievous} blow.

grievous They shall die of {grievous} deaths; they
shall

not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; [but] they shall
be

as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by

the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be

meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.

grievous Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone
forth

in fury, even a {grievous} whirlwind: it shall fall grievously
upon

the head of the wicked.

grievous For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise [is]

incurable, [and] thy wound [is] {grievous}.

grievous There is] no healing of thy bruise; thy
wound is

{grievous}: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands

over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed
continually?

grievous For they bind heavy burdens and {grievous}
to be

borne, and lay [them] on men's shoulders; but they [themselves]
will

not move them with one of their fingers.

grievous And he said, Woe unto you also, ye] lawyers!

for ye lade men with burdens {grievous} to be borne, and ye

yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

grievous For I know this, that after my departing
shall

{grievous} wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

grievous And when he was come, the Jews which came
down

from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and {grievous}

complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

grievous Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To

write the same things to you, to me indeed is] not {grievous},
but

for you it is] safe.

grievous Now no chastening for the present seemeth
to be

joyous, but {grievous}: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the

peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised

thereby.

grievous <1JO5 -3> For this is the love of God, that we keep his

commandments: and his commandments are not {grievous}.

grievous And the first went, and poured out his vial
upon

the earth; and there fell a noisome and {grievous} sore upon the
men

which had the mark of the beast, and upon] them which worshipped
his

image.
