thee,

say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me

meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see

[it], and eat [it] at her hand.

brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose [that] they

have

slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead:

for

by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined

 from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

king's sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.

that

he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto

this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment:

notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and spe

aking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

jonadab <JER35 -16> Because the sons of {Jonadab} the son of

Rechab

have performed the commandment of their father, which he

commanded

them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:

jonadab <JER35 -18> And Jeremiah said unto the house of the

Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel;

Because

ye have obeyed the commandment of {Jonadab} your father, and kept

all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath c

ommanded you:

jonadab <JER35 -19> Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the

God

of Israel; {Jonadab} the son of Rechab shall not want a man to

stand

before me for ever.
