hath hid himself among the stuff.

[condition] will I make [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust

all your right eyes, and lay it [for] a reproach upon all Israel.

and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show

a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after

for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of

Israel.

Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying,

Cursed

[be] the man that eateth [any] food this day. And the people were

faint.

answered <1SA14 -37> And Saul asked counsel of God, Shall I go

after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of

Israel? But he {answered} him not that day.

answered <1SA14 -39> For, [as] the LORD liveth, which saveth

Israel,

though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But [there

[There is] no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed

will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

Israel;

but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the

commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD [be] God,

follow

him: but if Baal, [then] follow him. And the people {answered}

him

not a word.

will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by

fire, let him be God. And all the people {answered} and said, It

is

well spoken.

even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But [there was] no

voice,

nor any that {answered}. And they leaped upon the a

ltar which was made.

lord, O king, according to thy saying, I [am] thine, and all

that I

have.

answered <1KI20 -11> And the king of Israel {answered} and said,

Tell [him], Let not him that girdeth on [his harness] boast

as he that putteth it off.

Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he {answered},

mine enemy? And he {answered}, I have found [thee]; because thou

hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

unto

him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or

shall

we forbear? And he {answered} him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD

shall deliver [it] into the hand of the king.

answered <2KI1 -8> And they {answered} him, [He was] an hairy

man,

and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said,

It

[is] Elijah the Tishbite.

answered <2KI1 -10> And Elijah {answered} and said to the

captain of

fifty, If I [be] a man of God, then let fire come down from

heaven,

and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from

heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

answered <2KI1 -11> Again also he sent unto him another captain

of

fifty with his fifty. And he {answered} and said unto him, O man

of

God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

answered <2KI1 -12> And Elijah {answered} and said unto them, If

I

[be] a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume

thee

and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and

consumed him and his fifty.

answered <2KI2 -5> And the sons of the prophets that [were] at

Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the

LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he

{answered}, Yea, I know [it]; hold ye your peace.

answered <2KI3 -8> And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he

{answered}, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

answered <2KI3 -11> But Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a

prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And

one

of the king of Israel's servants {answered} and said, Here [is]

Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands

 of Elijah.

answered <2KI4 -13> And he said unto him, Say now unto her,

Behold,

thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what [is] to be

done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the

captain of the host? And she {answered}, I dwell among

mine own people.

answered <2KI4 -14> And he said, What then [is] to be done for

her?

And Gehazi {answered}, Verily she hath no child, and her husband

is

old.

answered <2KI4 -26> Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say

unto

her, [Is it] well with thee? [is it] well with thy husband? [is

it]

well with the child? And she {answered}, [It is] well.

answered <2KI6 -2> Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take

thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where

we

may dwell. And he {answered}, Go ye.

answered <2KI6 -3> And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go

with thy servants. And he {answered}, I will go.

answered <2KI6 -16> And he {answered}, Fear not: for they that

[be]

with us [are] more than they that [be] with them.

answered <2KI6 -22> And he {answered}, Thou shalt not smite

[them]:

wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy

sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that

they

may eat and drink, and go to their master.

answered <2KI6 -28> And the king said unto her, What aileth thee?

And she {answered}, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that

we

may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

answered <2KI7 -2> Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned

{answered} the man of God, and said, Behold, [if] the LORD would

make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold,

thou shalt see [it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

answered <2KI7 -13> And one of his servants {answered} and said,

Let

[some] take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which

are

left in the city, (behold, they [are] as all the multitude of

Israel

that are left in it: behold, [I say], they [are]

even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:)

and

let us send and see.

answered <2KI7 -19> And that lord {answered} the man of God, and

said, Now, behold, [if] the LORD should make windows in heaven,

might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it

with

thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

answered <2KI8 -12> And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he

{answered}, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the

children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and

dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha {answered},

The

LORD hath showed me that thou [shalt be] king over Syria.

answered <2KI8 -14> So he departed from Elisha, and came to his

master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he

{answered}, He told me [that] thou shouldest surely recover.

answered <2KI9 -19> Then he sent out a second on horseback, which

came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, [Is it] peace? And

Jehu

{answered}, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

answered <2KI9 -22> And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu,

that

he said, [Is it] peace, Jehu? And he {answered}, What peace, so

long

as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts [are

so]

many?

answered <2KI10 -13> Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king

of

Judah, and said, Who [are] ye? And they {answered}, We [are] the

brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the

king and the children of the queen.

wisdom

to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth

slay the wise [men] of Babylon:

captain, Why [is] the decree [so] hasty from the king? Then

made the thing known to Daniel.

of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

name [was] Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the

dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

answered <DAN2 -27> Daniel {answered} in the presence of the

king,

and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise

[men], the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto

the king;

answered <DAN2 -47> The king {answered} unto Daniel, and said,

Of a

truth [it is], that your God [is] a God of gods, and a Lord of

kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal

this

secret.

answered <DAN3 -16> Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, {answered}

and

said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are] not careful to

answer

thee in this matter.

answered <DAN3 -24> Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied,

and

rose up in haste, [and] spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did

not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They

{answered} and said unto the king, True, O king.

answered <DAN3 -25> He {answered} and said, Lo, I see four men

loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt;

and

the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

answered <DAN4 -19> Then Daniel, whose name [was] Belteshazzar,

was

astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king

spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the

interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar {answered}

and s

aid, My lord, the dream [be] to them that hate thee, and the

interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

answered <DAN5 -17> Then Daniel {answered} and said before the

king,

Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another;

yet I

will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the

interpretation.

concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that

every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God or man within

thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the d

not.

That Daniel, which [is] of the children of the captivity of

Judah,

regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed,

but maketh his petition three times a day.

said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my

This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by

might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

these two olive trees upon the right [side] of the candlestick

and

upon the left [side] thereof?

answered <ZEC4 -12> And I {answered} again, and said unto him,

What

[be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes

empty the golden [oil] out of themselves?

answered <ZEC4 -13> And he {answered} me and said, Knowest thou

not

what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord.

answered <ZEC5 -2> And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I
